I’ve been spending some extra time training my blue throated macaw Jinx. I’ve been working on talking on cue (or just fun noises/vocals on cue) as well as …

  1. I love how you just work the training into your day. Love the tongue coming out the side of his mouth, my galah used to do that when making a raspberry sound even though he didn't need to because us kids would stick our tongues out when blowing a raspberry.

  2. When I was studying production animal technician I would be on my laptop listening to Beyonce. I would have the Alexandrea on my shoulder and she would dance to the music. Soon as another came on she would bite my ear so I would have to have it on repeat for her lol

  3. Love your vids!!
I Have a question if you don't mind.
When training a bird, is a daily routine required or does every other day suffice?
I have 6 large birds and i would think training would take a bit of the day so i was thinking shifting the ones i do so 3 one day and 3 the other.

  5. Your Blue Throated Macaw seems very polite and you'll love him so much Jamieleigh and I always love you hottie because you are my favorite loving lady. 💓💓💓💓💓💓😍😍😍😍😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💘💘💘💘💘

  6. Omg Jamie… Jinxi has made my day so glad u managed to get the whoooooo on cue I had a massive grin on my face all the way throughout. The trick at the end as well with ur pupper it topped another awesome video.!!!!!!!:) Can't for the life of me remember his name though:)

  7. I want to encourage my bird to sing as much as possible and have noticed he enjoys music, especially faster, more cheerful songs like Disney songs and things. So to help encourage it, I'll put on happy music for him and sing along so he gets more into it. I also pay extra attention to him and let him out of the cage when he sings as encouragement. I don't always let him out when he sings because I don't want him to learn to sing song for attention whenever I want a minute to be alone, but it does get him out for at least a little bit most times.

  8. I have an timneh African grey that has never been a good talker. He started saying a few things when he was about 15yrs old. Although I continue to work with him, he hasn't seemed motivated to learn new vocalizations. He repeats what he has learned over and over. Hoe does one encourage a parrot to expand it's vocalizations?

  9. Okay, so I've got a question. Admittedly, I haven't watched all your videos yet and the answer is probably somewhere in there, but I get that you can reinforce likable behaviour by giving a treat. However, how do you cause the behaviour you want to treat them for? How did you let Jinx know that he's supposed to mimic the kissing sound at the very start of putting it on cue, for instance? Or even more so, how do you teach them to wave?

  10. I love watching you with the birds,😍next month I’ll be caring for 7 rescue macaws who have been in this couples care for over 40 years I met them last December in Arizona while traveling in my van for the 1st time.Maybe I’ll post a short video of me and them.
Now they’re at their property in San Diego with all the birds. And called me up to see if I was interested in taking care of the kids again, thats what they call them (the kids).of coarse I said yes.Cant Waite to see if the remember me.💕I sure miss each one of them❣️

  11. That is trully amazing! Total trust to hold him like a baby! I love watching you guys! If learned so much! Although the baby I'm getting(indianringneck) may not be the most lovable but I do know they are highly intelligent and can be trained! I'm excited to start my adventure!!!
